How to Decorate Arbors

If you use an arbor to decorate your garden or yard, you can make it more festive for holidays and special events by decorating it with craft materials. For example, you can add tulle fabric, satin ribbon and silk greenery and flowers to an arbor for a wedding. Your arbor will serve as a beautiful focal point, and you will save money by doing it yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Drape 12 feet of 3-foot-wide tulle fabric over a wooden arbor.

    • 2

Cut six 18-inch-long pieces of 2-inch-wide wired satin ribbon.

    • 3

Gather the tulle together about 2 feet from the end, and wrap a piece of ribbon around it. Tie the ribbon in a bow. Continue doing this every 2 feet or so along the length of the tulle.

    • 4

Run an 8- to 12-inch length of craft wire under the bow and over the tulle, and secure it to the frame of the arbor. Hide the wire in the bow and tulle as much as possible. Snip off the ends with wire cutters. Do this at every spot where there's bow.

    • 5

Wind a 12-foot-long silk vine around the arbor, wrapping it loosely in and out of the tulle.

    • 6

Insert a hot glue stick in a hot glue gun. Plug in the glue gun.

    • 7

Squeeze a dollop of hot glue on the back of a silk flower, and press the flower onto the tulle fabric next to a bow. Repeat this process until you have added as many flowers as you would like to your decorated arbor.
