Any size garden can be decorated and the sky is the limit in terms of creativity. Whatever brings you peace and makes you happy can be incorporated into your garden design. Instructions

    • 1

Place stepping stones around the garden. These stones or pavers can be purchased at a home and garden store, or you can make your own out of bricks. Place the stones in a path that leads you through the garden or around the perimeter.

    • 2

Add small garden statues or decorations. A simple flower bed can be transformed with a statue or cute decor item. Place the statues in areas of prominence around the garden where they can be easily seen. Avoid adding too many, however, as this can make the space feel cluttered.

    • 3

Hang wind chimes or bird feeders around the garden on trees or on posts. Small wind chimes can set the mood in a garden and they can provide quiet music. Bird feeders can also be used but should be avoided if you have vegetables planted in the area since they might encourage birds to congregate and sample the garden; however, birds can be very useful in keeping the population of harmful insects down to manageable levels in a flower garden.

    • 4

Add a water feature. A small fountain can provide not only a water source for wildlife but also a relaxing feature for your garden. You can either dig a small man-made pond or use an above-ground fountain that only needs a water source to run. Many fountains may require an electricity source and may need to be hard-wired to your home's electricity. Consider this before selecting the fountain for your garden.

Install a trellis. Climbing vines and plants can turn a plain trellis into a conversation piece in just a few weeks. Place the trellis out in the open, or against a wall if you need to cover an area up. You can also use trellises to mark the "opening" for your garden and create the illusion of walking into an outdoor room.

Place a small bench in the garden. Now that you've gone to the trouble of decorating your home garden to make it inviting, you may want to stay awhile and enjoy it. A small bench can be placed under a tree, or under a trellis to provide a seating area inside the garden.
