Rubbermaid Shed Assembly Instructions

Rubbermaid makes a variety of lawn and garden storage solutions, including sheds. Rubbermaid sheds are made from plastic that will resist fading and warping and will never need painting. The sheds come in different sizes to store your garden tools and supplies, as well as lawn mowers, sporting supplies or bicycles. Allow several hours for the assembly of your shed.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the floor section of your shed on flat ground with the wall slots on the edges of the floor facing upwards. Remove the plugs in the wall slots (2 on each side wall and 4 along the back wall) by cutting along the edge of the wall slots with a utility knife and knocking out the plugs with a rubber mallet and a flat blade screwdriver.

    • 2

Remove the circular plugs at both front corners of the floor for the door hinges using a flat blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet. Locate the two dimples in the floor on each side where you just removed the plugs. Drill pilot holes in these locations using a 1/8” drill bit and an electric drill. Note: The floor is made of a plastic material that is double-thickness. Drill pilot holes only through the first layer of the floor.

    • 3

Punch out the plugs in the mounting holes at the top of each back wall panel with a flat blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet. Place the left side wall and the left half of the rear wall panel together on the floor assembly. Fit the dovetailed joint in the corner of the two pieces together until they lock into place. Lubricate the pieces with liquid soap so they will slip together easier. Push both pieces downward until they lock into place on the floor assembly.

    • 4

Place the right side wall into position on the floor assembly and push down until it locks into place. Slide the right half of the rear wall panel in between the other rear wall panel and the right side wall. Use liquid soap to fit the dovetailed joint at the corner of the two pieces together. Push down on the panel until it locks into place on the floor.

    • 5

Secure the left and right rear wall panels together by pushing the five locking plates into place between the two panels from the inside. Evenly space the plates from top to bottom. Knock out the plugs in the roof mounting holes at the top of each side wall with a flat blade screwdriver and a rubber mallet.

    • 6

Place the roof panel onto the top of the shed, lining up the slots in the sides of the roof with the tabs in the side walls. Raise the front corners of the roof slightly to align the mounting holes in the roof brace to the holes at the front of each side wall. Screw the roof into place from the outside of the shed into the roof panel’s mounting holes and through the holes in the side and rear panels where you knocked out the plugs earlier.

    • 7

Raise the front corner of the roof slightly and insert the hinge pin on the top the door into the hole on in the bottom of the roof panel. Slide the lower part of the door into place so that the bottom hinge pin slides into the hole in the floor. Lower the roof panel. Repeat this step for the other door.

Tighten the four roof mounting screws through the roof brace from the inside of the shed with a Philips screwdriver. Drill pilot holes in the front lower corner of each side wall with an electric drill and a 1/8” drill bit. Tighten the bottom screws to secure the floor to the side and rear panels with a Philips screwdriver.
