How to Move a Shed About Five Feet

Remove everything from the shed and shut the doors and windows tightly. Taking everything out will not only lighten the shed and make it easier to move, but will prevent any tools inside from sliding around and becoming damaged.

Wedge an iron pipe under one side of the shed and place it over an empty drum to create a fulcrum. Use a chair or cinder blocks if you don't have a drum available. Lift the shed off the ground about 1 foot and have one of your helpers place car jacks under each corner of that side of the shed.

Jack the corners of the shed up at an angle until it is high enough to slip some PVC pipe underneath.

Place the four PVC pipes underneath the shed at equally spaced intervals then release the jacks so that the shed rests on the PVC pipes.

Wrap the nylon rope around the back portion of the shed with the help of an assistant and pull the shed along the PVC pipes. It should roll in the direction you pull it. You can push the shed if it's light enough.

Roll the shed forward until the PVC pipe nearest the back is exposed. Place this pipe under the front of the shed and continue rolling. Proceed in this manner until you have moved the shed 5 feet, or more if desired.

Lift the shed up with the jacks once it is in the desired position and remove the PVC pipes. Wedge the shed up with the iron pipe as demonstrated in Step 2, then release and remove the jacks.
