Preen can be applied to flower gardens when the plants are 2 to 3 inches tall. If the Preen is added to the soil before flowers are planted, you must wait for three months before planting seeds.
Most vegetables seeds must be germinated and have at least five leaves before using Preen. The exception to this rule is if planting radishes, black-eyed peas, Brussels sprout, broccoli, carrots, some pea varieties and mustard greens. These can be planted before adding Preen.
Before using Preen on flower gardens, vegetable gardens or around shrubs, herbs and ground cover, you must read the directions on the label before applying Preen.
