How to Plant Pechay Seeds

Pechay (Brassica rapa), also known as bok choi or Chinese cabbage, is a biannual, herbaceous, edible plant that develops with an erect habit, reaching 6 inches to a foot in height. Its tender, immature leaves appear in Chinese soups and other Asian dishes. Pechay provides beta carotene, vitamin C, iron, fiber, calcium and other nutrients. Sow the seeds in early spring in sand or loam with a pH level between 5.5 and 6.5.
