Instructions

    • 1

Purchase the materials for your faucet and flower pot fountain from your local home improvement store or from online distributors. The flower pot is your reservoir and should be large enough to house the pump and the pipe leading to the faucet. You may also find old faucets and pipes in your local salvage yard, if you would like to take a more rustic approach to your fountain.

Place your flower pot in the location where you plan to have your fountain. Moving it after it is assembled is not as easy as moving it beforehand. If the flower pot has an opening, seal it with plumber's putty. Your flower pot should be water tight. You will need electricity for the pump, but an outdoor extension cord may be buried from the fountain to the outlet.

Place the plastic tubing onto your pump and place the pump into the flower pot. Assemble the faucet to the pipe. Feed the plastic tubing up inside the base of the pipe for the faucet.

Attach the faucet pipe to the inside edge of the flower pot, wherever it meets, with the waterproof adhesive. If the pipe does not rest on the base of the flower pot, place a brick or a small upside down flower pot in the bottom of the reservoir flower pot to brace it on.

Fill in the flower pot with stones or river rock to camouflage the pump and its mechanisms. Fill the flower pot with water before you turn on the pump. Enjoy your fountain.
