How to Make an Easy Bench

A simple, sturdy bench is a great addition to any garden or yard. This easy seating solution provides a comfortable place to rest for a moment and enjoy the great outdoors. The following instructions for building a bench are so easy you only need one tool for its construction. This bench can be constructed with very little time and effort, leaving you with ample opportunity to sit and enjoy it.

Things You'll Need

  • Two (14-inch tall) tree stumps
  • Measuring tape
  • One 2 x12-inch wooden plank, approximately 5 feet long
  • Four (4-inch) long flat head wood screws

Instructions

      Place the two wooden tree stumps on a flat surface with 4 feet of distance from the outer edge of each stump. Line the tree stumps up so that they are situated on a straight line from one another.

      Lay the wooden plank on top of the tree stumps so that it extends beyond the stumps for 6 inches on either side.

      Screw 2 wood screws into the plank over each tree stump to secure the pieces together. The wood screws should be flush with the top of the plank when completely screwed in.
