Determine a location to place the plant stand where plants will receive adequate light. This factor makes it reasonable to position plants that have the same lighting requirements together on the plant stand.
Obtain the plants to display on the tiered plant stand. It is important that plants are in containers that also have saucers to catch drainage from watering.
Separate plants by size and type. If the tiered plant stand provides a gradual decrease in size from bottom to top, it will be necessary to position the larger plants at the bottom and work upward with the smaller plants.
Provide climbing plants with small wooden dowels inserted into the pot. The dowels will provide support for the plants to climb and direction for new growth.
Check plants routinely for watering and feeding needs. Climbers may need to be redirected or moved to another location, depending on space available. Make certain that faster-growing plants do not shade smaller ones, making them compete for sunlight.
