How to Clean Hardwood Garden Furniture

Hardwood garden furniture is strong, durable and available in a wide range of colors and wood types. Hardwood furniture can add warmth and appeal to any garden or outdoor area. When your hardwood garden furniture builds up dirt or debris from exposure to the elements, you can clean it using household products. Clean your hardwood furniture at least once a year to maintain its natural warmth and color.

  • Garden hose
  • Bucket
  • Dish detergent
  • Bleach
  • Soft bristled scrub brush or sponge

Instructions

      Rinse the hardwood furniture thoroughly with a garden hose to remove dirt, leaves, debris or cobwebs.

      Fill a bucket with 1 gallon of warm water, and add 5 tbsp. of dish detergent and 1 tbsp. of bleach.

      Dip a scrub brush or sponge into the soapy water, and clean the hardwood furniture starting at the top. Work your way down the furniture, rinsing the brush or sponge as needed.

      Rinse the furniture with a garden hose to remove any detergent residue, and allow it to air dry.
