Instructions for an Ozark Trail Dining Canopy

Locate a flat area large enough to encompass the entire body of the canopy. Remove all dining canopy parts from their protective bag and separate canopy poles, vertical extending poles and stakes into separate piles. Lay the canopy on the ground with the inside of the canopy facing up.

Unfold the roof rods and insert the male end of each rod into the female connector of the next rod. A thin cord of bungee material runs the through all the poles, connecting them in sequence. Ensure that the cord is not pinched when connecting the ends together. When completed, there are two 10-foot poles. Lay the poles diagonally across the canopy, creating an X. Insert the end of each pole into its corresponding pole pocket sewn into the canopy's corner. Locate the hook and loop fasteners along the direction of travel of each roof pole and secure the length of the pole to the canopy. Turn the canopy over with the poles facing the ground.

Connect all vertical pole pieces into four tall rods. Holding one rod, locate a metal grommet found in a canopy corner and insert the top, male end, of the rod through the hole. Repeat this step until all four rods are inserted into each grommet and the dining canopy is free standing.

Stake out the canopy for additional stability. Hammer stakes into the ground, one on each side of a vertical pole. Knot one end of the guy line and run a rope from a stake, through the corner grommet of the canopy, then to the opposing stake. A plastic slider provided with each guy line can be adjusted to provide tension to the guy line. Repeat for all corners of the canopy.
