Asembly Instructions for a Universal Swing Stand

A universal swing stand holds swinging chairs that typically are installed with a chain onto a porch ceiling, ceiling rafter or a tree branch. With a swing stand, the swing can be moved from one place to another with ease. These structures are made from enamel coated steel or aluminum tubing, and assemble easily with a few hand tools and a cordless drill.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Review the instructions and account that all pieces and fasteners are contained in a ready-to-assemble kit. Lay out the pieces in the pattern in which they are put together.

    • 2

Assemble the legs first regardless of the style of swing. Tighten all fasteners.

    • 3

Stand the legs up, and attach the pieces of the frame that hold the legs together. For most swing stands, these connector pieces of the frame attach between the tops of the legs. For some kits, a frame will rest on the floor, and the supports attach to that framework.

    • 4

Tighten all fasteners and secure all of the joints. Most kits have small rubber or vinyl caps for the ends of the screws. Slip these pieces over the ends of the fasteners to protect users from accidental injury.
