Purchase a keyhole-shaped garden paver from a garden supply store. These pavers are a single piece that looks like an octagon shape with a smaller square directly on top. The square's sides are usually the same length as each side on the octagon portion.
Paint the paver white on all sides with acrylic paint. Wait for the paint to dry before proceeding with the project.
Orient the paver with the large octagonal base at the bottom and the smaller square portion at the top as the snowman's head. Hot-glue assorted buttons to the octagon portion to act as buttons on the snowman's coat.
Paint details on the snowman with the black and orange acrylic paints. The snowman needs eyes, a mouth and an orange triangular nose.
Choose a scrap of fabric to act as the snowman's scarf. The fabric should be at least one inch wide and two feet long. Tie the fabric around the snowman's neck, which is the spot on the paver where the square and octagon join.
Glue a pom pom on either side of the snowman's head to look like the fluffy ear coverings of earmuffs. Bend a chenille stem, cut it to the correct length so its ends touch the pom poms and the rest goes over the snowman's head and glue that in place.
