How to Kill Earwigs Naturally

Earwigs have a distinctive two-prong tail. They eat through the leaves of many common flowering plants. They received their name from an old wives' tale that said they crawl into ears and prey on people's brains while they sleep. Earwigs prefer moist, shady areas. They do not build nests inside people's homes. Rather, they sometimes migrate into homes through open surfaces. Earwigs can be controlled naturally with 35 percent dust-grade boric acid.

Instructions

    • 1

Locate any moist areas around the house. Earwigs are attracted to moist areas.

    • 2

Locate any holes or cracks around ground-level windows.

    • 3

      Locate any drafty doors.

    • 4

Spread the boric acid along each of the problem spots. Boric acid only works if the earwig travels through the powder. So be sure to place the powder optimally.
