Cover a tray with smooth pebbles and stones. Pour water onto the tray, until the stones are almost submerged, to create a small rock garden. Place the geranium plants on top of the watered stones, which help keep the plants moisturized in dry fall air. Add additional pieces to the stones and water, such as water toys for a display in a nursery, marbles, small Buddha figurines or glass gems.
While window boxes are used to add color to a window facing a city street or around the home, use them inside the home as well. Window boxes are available in variety of materials and styles including wood, stone, terracotta and metal. Plant geraniums in conjunction with other flowers and plants to create a small indoor garden. Another option is to plant several varieties of geraniums for a colorful window display. Place planters on sideboards that receive a lot of sun -- or use brackets to keep them in place.
Place geranium pots together in an area of your home such as a sunny deck, screened-in back porch or balcony. Reuse old tray tables and plant stands and place them around a bench, couch or other seating arrangement. Use tray tables and stands of assorted heights to create a more varied look. If creating the arrangement indoors, such as on a back porch, use hanging baskets for even more variety.
Create a fall-themed geranium display on your front porch. If you have steps, place a geranium pot on each step on either side. Set up a scarecrow on a bale or two of hay and place pots of geraniums around the scarecrow and on the hay bales. Also, add other fall decorations such as arrangements of gourds and pumpkins of assorted sizes. Use stick decorations among the geraniums if desired, such as small black-cat stick figures.
