Instructions

Create garden luminaries. Give the entire garden space a warm, inviting glow by making tin can luminaries. Punch decorative holes in an empty food can with a nail, and paint the outside with exterior craft paint in a colorful hue to match or contrast with flowers in the garden. Insert 2 inches of sand in the bottom of the can, and finish off with a votive candle for a beautiful DIY garden decoration.

Make mosaic stepping stones. Purchase a concrete stepping stone, and cover the top with a layer of exterior adhesive. Using broken pieces of old china plates, adhere shards in a design into the adhesive. When complete, grout in between the china pieces, and seal the entire project with exterior sealer for a flower garden decor item with vintage charm.

Assemble a bird bath. Take a large, clay garden pot, and turn it upside down. Top the pot with a generous amount of silicone caulk, and lay an oversized clay pot saucer, right-side up, on top. Place a few garden stones in the saucer to give the birds a foothold when drinking, and fill it with water. Plant flowers at the base of the bird bath as a finishing touch to a whimsical handmade garden decoration.

Incorporate bowling ball art. Sand, prime and paint the outside of an old bowling ball. Amplify the flower garden decor by choosing motifs such as flowers, butterflies, dragonflies or ladybugs. Seal the ball with exterior sealer to protect it. Display the ball on the ground among the flower beds as a unique garden accent that is certain to add visual interest to any garden design.

Create a teacup bird feeder. Using silicone caulk, adhere the bottom of a teacup to the top of a saucer. Caulk a thin, copper pipe to the bottom of the saucer to serve as a stake. Insert the piece into the ground among the garden flowers, and fill it with birdseed to accent the garden with a functional and beautiful piece of decor.
