How to Grow King Fisher Daisies

The daisy is a hardy perennial that can weather harsh winter and summer conditions without withering. The kingfisher daisy grows with soft violet petals and a cheery yellow center. It has a substantial flowering season that starts in the summer and goes into the fall, growing to be about 1 1/2 feet tall. The kingfisher daisy also goes by the name blue daisy or the blue Marguerite. It can be used in a border or edging and is extremely reliable, coming back year after year to produce gorgeous blooms.

Instructions

  Wait until after your last frost and then turn over your soil. Choose an area in your garden that gets full sunlight. Remember kingfisher daisies are drought resistant and will grow in mediocre soil as long as it has good drainage.

  Mix the daisy seeds in a paper cup with sand, mixing thoroughly. This allows you to easily spread your seeds and see the ground you have covered.

  Sprinkle the sand and seed mixture over the area where you will like to have your kingfisher daisies grow. Then cover the soil by raking it gently over the seeded section with a trowel.

  Thin your daisies once they germinate if necessary.
