      Look at your snake plant for visible signs of dead foliage. Dead foliage is usually identified by a discolored look. The leaves will eventually starts to separate from the snake plant.

      Hold the tip of the dead foliage your fingers. Depending on the condition of the foliage, it may automatically separate from the plant.

      Trim the dead foliage from the snake plant using a pruning shear. Start trimming the foliage from the base of the plant. Continue until you have neatly trimmed all the dead foliage from the plant.
