Layout the ceramic tile on a sheet of plywood to determine the visually appealing spacing. The smaller the grout joints in this design the better. Grout joints 1/8 inch wide are recommended. Start in one corner of the sheet of plywood and use all of your tiles. Your tiles will not cover the entire sheet. The excess plywood will be trimmed off later. Record your design and remove the tiles.
Apply an even layer of tile adhesive to the sheet of plywood using a 3/16 inch square notched trowel.
Lay the ceramic tiles in place as planned. Make sure to press each tile into place by slightly twisting and pressing at the same time.
Wait for the tile adhesive to dry over night.
Trim off the excess plywood that is not covered by the tile. Carefully cut along the edge of the ceramic tile, but make sure not to touch the tiles.
Measure and cut pieces of the 1x2 inch boards to act as an edge around the table top. Use finish nails and wood glue to attach the pine boards around the edge.
Attach the four legs to the under side of the plywood by using the hardware that is supplied with them. Table length legs can be purchased at Home Depot or Lowe's, along with the hardware to attach them to the underside of a table top.
Sand and paint the edges of the table top and the legs any color or finish that you want.
