Instructions

    • 1

Find a base for your glass-top table. This can be anything: an existing coffee table, a baby carriage or pallets.

    • 2

Prepare the base. If you are working with a baby carriage, you need to remove the carriage and leave just the frame and wheels. If you are working with an existing table, you need to modify the table by either removing the existing top or adding to the sides.

    • 3

Modify the sides of the existing table by measuring the tabletop and cutting boards to match the width and length. Sand the wood to make it smooth and secure it to the table sides with nails or screws. By adding to the sides of the table, you create a place not only to set the glass for the glass-top table, but a place to lay photos, a map of a special place, drawings or other items beneath the glass.

Set the glass in place. If you are working with a baby carriage, you can secure the glass to the frame with double-sided suction cups. If you are working with an existing table from which you removed the top, secure the glass with clear adhesive. For the table with the modified sides, simply lay the glass top in place.
