Allow the water to dry from your wood table by placing it in an area receiving steady, warm air. Repair the water damage by taking a clean cloth dampened with a solution of equal quantities of toothpaste and baking soda. Rub the area with the solution. Use a clean cloth to buff away the solution.
Remove black spots on your wood table by stripping the finish and bleaching the wood. Black spots are caused when the water has seeped deep into the wood causing mildew. The bleach kills the mildew. After the bleach has completely dried, reapply the wood finish.

Rub butter over the damaged area. The butter will restore the moisture in your wood.
