Inspect the leg thoroughly. Check to see if the leg is attached to the table by screws or glue.
Tighten the screws that are attached to the table leg using either the Phillips-head or Flat-head screwdriver, if necessary.
Glue the creases of the top of the table leg and press the leg firmly against the table. Let the table rest for 24 hours before using the table. This will guarantee that the glue is dry.
Inspect the wooden leg to see how large of a splinter has affected the leg.
Spread wood filler evenly over the splinter using the spackle knife. The wood filler should completely fill in the cavity of the leg. Let the wood filler harden overnight.
Smooth out the rough edges created by the wood filler, using fine sandpaper. Use a cloth rag to wipe away the particles created by the sanding.
Paint over the wood glue with a paintbrush, using the same color paint as the table. If the table is natural wood, use sealer to cover the wood glue for extra protection. Allow the paint or sealer to dry for 24 hours.
Inspect the table leg. Look for any paint bubbles that might have formed during the painting process. Gently sand over any large bubbles that have formed.
