Plan out the table’s size and dimensions. Sketch together a plan for the table’s appearance. Consider where the table will sit so you will be aware of how large or small to build your table. Purchase wood material from a lumber or home improvement market. Buy extra material just in case.
Cut and measure the lumber. With an electric saw, cut a 2x4 piece straight and square (average measurement for a medium table). Guide the saw using a square clamp. Freehand any other additional cuts.
Decide the legs' measurements according to the table top’s frame, and cut all of the four legs the same width and height. Sand down the table legs with a power sander to create a smooth finish. Do not sand the legs' tops or bottoms because it can ruin the right angle cuts.
Attach the table legs. Apply glue to the first leg's top and fit the leg under the table. Secure the legs by drilling in screw through the undertable and the leg. Repeat for the other three legs. Glue and clamp all legs into place. Allow the glue to dry.
Turn the table over, sand the tabletop down and apply a wood finisher.
