Instructions

    • 1

Brush a thick layer of chemical stripper on the table. Allow the stripper to sit per manufacturer directions. Remove the stripper with a paint scraper or putty knife. Repeat this process until all of the finish has been removed from the kitchen table.

    • 2

Clean the stripper from the table following the directions indicated by the manufacturer. Allow the table to dry completely.

    • 3

Lightly sand the table with a sanding block and fine-grit sandpaper. This will smooth the wood and prepare it for the wood stain. When you have finished sanding, vacuum the table and wipe it down with a tack cloth. The table needs to be free of dust before you stain it.

Brush wood stain on the table. Wipe the table with a clean cloth to take off any extra stain. Allow the stain to dry.

Finish the table by brushing it with polyurethane. After the finish is thoroughly dry, lightly sand the table with fine-grit sandpaper. Once sanded, wipe the table down with a tack cloth. Apply a second coat of polyurethane. Wait for the polyurethane to dry before use.
