Homemade Poker Tables

The history of playing poker includes bringing friends and family together for hours of entertainment. Many play poker on a kitchen or card table. Some purchase poker tables because they complement the game playing experience. If the purchase price does not fit the household budget, creating a poker table is a viable option. This ideal poker table fits on the kitchen table or a card table when in use, which means it doesn't take up space when not in use.

Instructions

    • 1

Place the 48-by-48-by- ¾-inch plywood on a worktable. Mark the center of all four sides of the plywood.

    • 2

Make a mark at 10 inches out to the right of one of the center marks. Measure from the same center mark out to the left and make a mark at 10 inches. Connect the 10-inch marks with one of the straight edges of a framing square. This creates right triangles on each of the four corners of the plywood.

    • 3

Cut each of the lines with a circular saw. Sand the edges with a sanding block and 60-grit sandpaper.

    • 4

Measure from the right hand corner of each side of the octagon and make a mark at 3 inches. Put the framing square on that mark and draw a line at least 4 inches long. Make a mark on that line 3 inches from the edge of the octagon. This is the center point of the cup holder.

    • 5

Cut a 3¼-inch hole on the center mark with a hole saw. Clean the edges of the cup holder hole with sandpaper.

    • 6

Apply the spray adhesive on the poker tabletop. Be certain the felt hang over the edges at least 3 inches. Allow it to dry until it is tacky (feels sticky to the touch). Spread the felt on the tabletop.

    • 7

Cut the cup holder holes out with a razor knife. Next, cut the felt from the corners of the sides out to the edge of the felt. Spray adhesive on the edges of the poker table and stick the felt to them. Trim the felt at the bottom of the edges.
