Instructions

    • 1

Remove any subscription cards or advertisement inserts from the magazines that can't be easily folded down.

    • 2

Take the first 10 pages of a magazine and fold them in half toward the front cover so that the right side of the pages is folded into the spine of the magazine. Keep the front cover untouched for now, as you will be folding it in a later step.

    • 3

Continue this procedure throughout the magazine, taking approximately the same thickness of pages and folding them in half. Make sure to keep all the folds going in the same direction, toward the front of the magazine.

    • 4

Include the back cover of the magazine in your final folded section.

    • 5

Fold the front cover of the magazine in half, this time in the opposite direction. You should now have a half-circle of looping magazine pages.

    • 6

Apply a line of craft glue inside the seams of each folded section, allowing each to adhere to the spine of the magazine. Leave the front cover untouched for now.

    • 7

      Let the glue dry.

    • 8

Repeat steps 1 through 7 with seven additional magazines of the same size. In order to keep your final table level, it is important that you pick magazines that stand upright at the same height.

    • 9

Form structural columns by attaching two magazine half-circles together. Do this by placing the half-circles upright and back to back, and folding each magazine front cover over the adjoining section of folds from the magazine behind it. Glue these seams in place as before and let them dry.

    • 10

Repeat step 9 until you have four completed columns.

    • 11

Build the first tier of your end table by setting down four magazine columns. Lay the first cutting board on top of them. If your first tier is unsteady, create more magazine columns and insert them within the first tier for added support.

    • 12

Set four more columns on top of your first tier and lay your second cutting board on top of the columns to serve as the top of your end table. If your second tier is unsteady, create more magazine columns and insert them within the second tier for added support.
