How to Paint a Wooden Table Black

An old wooden table can take on new appeal with the addition of a coat of paint. This can also extend the life of your table. When using black paint, you may want to keep the shine down and go for more of a matte finish. Spray paint will allow an even coat. Instructions

Clean the table with basic soap and water and a sponge and sand it well. You may want to use steel wool for the last sanding to provide a smoother finish. This will help remove some imperfections and help the paint bond.

    • 2

Place the table in a well-ventilated protected area.

    • 3

Spray the table, covering all areas evenly. If multiple coats are desired, allow the table to dry before applying the next coat. Allow to dry before use.
