Corner protectors serve two purposes. They protect small children -- and perhaps some of us not-so-small clumsy adults -- from injury. They also protect the corners from damage done to them in an active household. According to Rebecca Wallgren, a professional seamstress in Rockford, Illinois, corner protectors can be sewn easily at home with very little skill using inexpensive terry washcloths.

Instructions
1
Fold a washcloth in half diagonally, forming a triangle. Repeat with a second washcloth. Stack the two diagonally-folded washcloths and pin them together.
2
Sew together the four layers of terry on the two short sides of the triangle, forming two seams that meet at a right angle.
3
Turn the resulting pocket inside out. Trim the seam if necessary, but consider that the seam itself provides additional cushioning, says Wallgren.
4
Use double-faced tape to secure the terry protector on the table corner.
