How to Take Old Wooden Windows & Make a Table

Turning a classic window frame into a table can be a fairly simple project. It is a nice way to get a useful piece of furniture out of something that would otherwise be trashed. The table can give a room character as well as keep a bit of the old feel of the place even in its new form.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove any old hardware in the window.

    • 2

Measure your window frame and mark corresponding lengths on the 1-by-3 boards.

    • 3

Cut the boards along the lines and attach them to form a frame matching the window frame.

    • 4

Place legs in each corner. Put a small nail in each one to hold it in place.

    • 5

Screw into the leg through the wood to firmly attach it to the frame. Repeat this step until each leg is attached to two sides with screws.

    • 6

Screw the window onto the top of the frame and directly into the legs of the table.

    • 7

Paint or stain the table and the legs.
