How to Cover a Plastic Table

Plastic tables come in many shapes and sizes. Whether serving as end tables, picnic tables, or general purpose tables, they can be sturdy and durable for outdoor use. But perhaps the color or design is bland or even downright ugly. A table cover or table cloth can add some style and even some protection for your plastic table. While a basic task, covering a plastic table requires proper sizing to ensure a proper fit.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the height of the table from the tabletop to the ground. Add 1 inch to this measurement.

    • 2

Measure the width of the table.

    • 3

Measure the length of the table.

    • 4

Purchase a cloth, paper, fabric, plastic, or vinyl table cloth cover that matches the height, width, and length dimensions of the plastic table.

    • 5

Unfold the table cover and gently shake it out to open it fully. Grasp one end with both hands and lift it up into the air over the table, allowing it to gently settle on top of the table.

    • 6

Pull the corners and sides of the table cover gently as needed until all sides are covered evenly. Two sides of the cover should nearly touch the ground, although some covers will allow all four sides to touch the ground.

    • 7

Smooth out the top surface with your hands to reduce wrinkles and bunching of the cover.
