How to Keep Dough From Sticking to Your Table

Dough is used in a variety of products. Yeast-free dough can be rolled out and cut or shaped to form biscuits, scones, cookies or pie crust. Yeasted dough is kneaded, left to rise, kneaded again in some cases, then formed into pretzels, pasta, pizza crust, rolls or breads. Unchilled dough, especially, has a tendency to stick to the working surface, so you must take extra steps to prevent a sticky mess.

Instructions

    • 1

Grab a handful of all-purpose flour, enough to lightly cover the surface where you will be rolling or kneading your dough.

    • 2

Spread the flour evenly over the area.

    • 3

Turn your dough out of the mixing bowl and onto the table surface and start to knead or roll it.

    • 4

Add a bit more flour to the table's surface if your dough continues to stick.
