How to Make a Base for Oval Glass Coffee Table

Concrete casting techniques allow you create a dramatic double column base for an oval glass coffee table. Corrugated cardboard boxes, found at packaging and moving supply stores, and inexpensive plastic bowls are used as casting forms. In addition to their use as table bases, the weatherproof concrete columns can support birdbaths or sundials for striking additions to the garden. By mixing the concrete with peat moss and vermiculite, a lightweight hypertufa stone is created for the columns.
