Cut two pieces of plywood that measure 2 1/2 by 3 inches with a saw.
Turn the tabletop over so the bottom side is facing up. Measure and make a mark at the edge of the table top 2 inches in from the side edge on both the left and right sides.
Place the plywood pieces at each of the 2-inch marks. Layer the hinges on top.
Drill through the hinge holes and into the wood. Use a screwdriver to secure the screws into the holes.
Cut two 4 by 4 1/2-inch pieces of plywood with a saw. Drill holes and attach these pieces to the other end of each hinge.
Use a metal file to smooth the screws.
Attach the regular table legs to the side of the table with the hinges.
Attach the adjustable legs to the opposite side of the table. The adjustable legs will allow you to slant the table top at an angle for painting if desired. Or, you can move the adjustable levers back down to create a flat surface for other projects.
Adjust the table to your desired height.
Attach baskets, pallets or other types of art supply storage to your table by drilling holes and screwing them to the table, if desired.
