Things You'll Need
- Drop cloth
- Rag
- Sandpaper
- Wire brush
- Scrap wood
- Deglosser
- Metal primer
- High gloss enamel spray paint

Preparing to Paint

Ventilate the area by either going outside or opening the windows.

Set up your work area by spreading the drop cloth.

Remove old paint with a wire brush. Sand any rust down with sandpaper.

Put on the deglosser first. Deglossers clean and dull to make surfaces paint ready.

Apply primer to protect your newly painted project from rusting.

Place furniture on the scrap wood. Elevating each piece promotes better coverage and fast drying.

Shake each paint can for about a minute.

Spray each piece from side to side with even, overlapping strokes. Keep the can 12 inches away from the furniture's surface.
