  1. How to Put Webbing on a Lawn Chair

    • 1

Remove any old webbing on the lawn chair. This is done by using a wrench or a socket that fits the screw underneath the chair. Each piece of webbing is held in place with a screw at each end. Make sure that you have all of the screws removed.

    • 2

Cut your new webbing for the horizontal and vertical widths of the chair. Make sure to add an extra two inches on each piece for the fold you will make when attaching the web with the screw.

    • 3

Start adding the vertical webbing to the chair. Remember to go under the back bar that connects the seat and the back. Take the first piece of webbing. Fold over an inch on the end and then bring the ends in to make a triangle. Then fold the point of the triangle down to meet the bottom edge. Now, take the nail and the hammer and make your pilot hole in the middle of the fold.

    • 4

Place the screw through the pilot hole and use the wrench or socket to tighten the screw and webbing to the chair. Repeat this process for all the vertical pieces of webbing. Remember, at each end, you will make the folds before attaching to the chair.

    • 5

Start the horizontal webbing on the seat part of the chair. Make the folds on each end and insert the screws to hold the fold in place while you weave the webbing in and out of the vertical webbing. Then use the wrench to tighten the webbing and the screw to the chair frame. Continue this process until you reach the top of the back.

    • 6

Fold the chair up and put away in a storage shed to keep out of direct sunlight when not in use. This will help protect the webbing from the elements that cause it to breakdown.
