Add cushions. Make any seating area instantly more comfortable by buying new cushions or even making your own. Place the cushion over the webbing to hide any flaws. Waterproof vinyl over a filling of polyfoam is the most durable choice, especially if the cushion will be exposed to the elements.

Replace plastic tape webbing on worn chairs. This material can easily be found in hardware stores. However, it typically doesn't last for more than a year or so. Look for brands that carry guarantees concerning their durability so you can get maximum wear out of your chair. When replacing the plastic webbing, simply follow the pattern of an old chair.

Apply plastic-covered cord to worn chairs. This type of cord is wonderfully easy to use, and the only work required is winding it back and forth across the chair frame. When installing new cord, leave some of the old cord in place as a pattern to follow.

Cover an old chair frame with canvas and cord. This renovation is easy enough. Simply stretch canvas across the frame of the chair, thread strong chord through the eyelets around the border and tie it to the rails. It's nearly as easy as lacing up a shoe.
