Purchase Your Lemonade Stand Building Supplies: Your local hardware store will be the perfect place for purchasing everything you need to build a lemonade stand. You will need (1 ) 8' by 4' sheet of 1 / 2 inch birch plywood, a sheet of 120 grit sand paper, 1 quart latex primer, 1 quart of exterior paint and 6 fully extendable hinges. If you're like me, just print this step out and pass it to the first clerk who smiles...
Cut, Prepare and Paint your Lemonade Stand Pieces. Measure twice and cut once is what my father always told me and sometimes he even followed his own advise. You want to measure and cut (1) 48 inch section and 3 16 inch sections. Three cuts and you are all set and you know that the hardware store can make the cuts for you if you don't have the needed saw or the ability to get an eight foot sheet of plywood home. After making the cuts you will need to sand the wood, prime it front and back, allow the primer to dry thoroughly and then paint each piece of your lemonade stand.
Build Your Lemonade Stand: I know four pieces of plywood doesn't look like a lemonade stand but you are almost there. By attaching two hinges to the top of the 48 inch section, then two on each side you will be able to attach the lemonade stand top and sides to the front. When attaching the hinges be sure to attach the top hinges to the front of the 48 inch board so that the top will fold down when collapsed and the side hinges are to be attached to the back so that the sides will fold in. You can now set it up with the top resting on the sides and let the kids decorate it and set up for business with the lawn chairs and a beach umbrella.
