Determine in which part of the room you want to hang the hammock. You can hang a hammock from any wall stud or ceiling beam. You will need to have 10 to 12 feet distance between support hooks. Once you have picked out the general location, use the stud finder to located the two studs that you will use to hold hammock. If you don't have a stud finder, tap on the wall and listen to the sound. If you hear a hollow sound, there is no stud or beam there. You will need to locate two beams for the ceiling mount. Each beam will have two hook screws in it 10 to 12 feet apart.
Measure anywhere from 5 to 6 feet off the ground on the wall. This is where the hook screws will go, so make sure they are equal distance off the ground. If you make your support screw holes lower, your hammock may hang too low and touch the ground.
If ceiling mounting the hammock, make sure the two end hooks are 6 feet apart. The nylon rope you will hang will create a "V" shape with the bottom of the "V" connecting to the hammock. The distance from this joint to the ground should be 6 feet.
Drill a hole into the middle of each stud or beam. Put the hook screws into the drilled holes. You may need to use the pliers to help you screw them completely in.
Hang each end of the hammock onto the hook. It should be level with the ground. If ceiling mounting the hammock, hang the nylon rope onto the hook screws, then hang the hammock onto the rope. Use secure knots for each end of the nylon rope. The hammock should be parallel to ground as well if ceiling mounting.
