How to Restrap Pool Furniture

Purchasing new pool furniture can be quite expensive. If only the straps are worn and the frame is still in good shape, replace the strapping yourself. It will definitely save you some money, and when you are finished, your pool furniture will look brand new. You will probably be surprised because replacing the strapping yourself won't be that hard. As long as you can cut and operate a screwdriver, you can replace the straps on your pool furniture yourself.

Instructions

    • 1

Measure the existing straps that are presently on your pool furniture. This will give you an idea of how much strapping you will need to purchase. Remove the straps from the furniture by unscrewing them from where the strap is being held onto the frame itself.

    • 2

Cut your straps to the size needed, being sure the straps will fit tightly to the chair. Don't cut the straps too big or they will sag once they are installed onto the frame.

    • 3

Poke a hole in the center end of one strap. This will make screwing it onto the frame a bit easier by having the hole already started.

    • 4

Place the hole on the strap over the opening on the frame where the screw will be inserted. Fold the two edges underneath the strap so the corner will not show once the strap is screwed to the frame. You can also trim off the two corners by cutting them off at a slight angle.

    • 5

Screw the screw into the strap and into the frame. Be sure to hold the edges underneath the strap as you are screwing the screw tightly in place--if you did not cut the corners off the strap.

    • 6

Pull the strap to the opposite side of the frame, and repeat the step 5. The strap should fit tightly across the entire frame. If the strap seems too long, cut a little bit off the end to make it smaller and its fit more taut.

    • 7

Continue the above steps until you have replaced all of the straps to all of your pool furniture.
