Remove any remaining glass pieces from table frame. Wrap large glass shards in a disposable cloth or newspaper and break into small pieces with a hammer. Place in a paper bag before disposing of in the trash.
Decide on a replacement top. Options include tempered replacement glass or Plexiglass, available at home improvement stores or glass suppliers. To change the table's look entirely, have a piece of heavy wire mesh cut at a machine shop to fit the tabletop.
Measure the table's circumference carefully and purchase a replacement top made of the preferred material. Glass replacement tops come in stock sizes and thicknesses, although many vendors will cut them to order.
Check the table frame thoroughly, tighten any loose screws and repair any other damage to the frame. If the frame could use a fresh coat of paint, now is the time to apply it.
Install the new tabletop. Tables have different types of fastening methods. Be sure the new top is securely fastened.
