Instructions

    • 1

Remove any remaining glass pieces from table frame. Wrap large glass shards in a disposable cloth or newspaper and break into small pieces with a hammer. Place in a paper bag before disposing of in the trash.

    • 2

Decide on a replacement top. Options include tempered replacement glass or Plexiglass, available at home improvement stores or glass suppliers. To change the table's look entirely, have a piece of heavy wire mesh cut at a machine shop to fit the tabletop.

    • 3

Measure the table's circumference carefully and purchase a replacement top made of the preferred material. Glass replacement tops come in stock sizes and thicknesses, although many vendors will cut them to order.

    • 4

Check the table frame thoroughly, tighten any loose screws and repair any other damage to the frame. If the frame could use a fresh coat of paint, now is the time to apply it.

    • 5

Install the new tabletop. Tables have different types of fastening methods. Be sure the new top is securely fastened.
