How to Buy New Webbing for a Lawn Chair

Weather can damage webbing on lawn chairs. Plastic fibers will become frayed and can irritate bare skin. Fibers that become weak or damaged will break under the weight of a person. This could result in an embarrassing situation or an injury. Even though the webbing is damaged on a lawn chair, the structure of the chair may still be sturdy. You can purchase lawn chair webbing in a variety of colors to create a whole new look for an old chair.

Remove a strip of the longest webbing. The webbing will be secured with a nut at both ends where it attaches to the frame. Remove the nuts and unwind the webbing from the chair. Lay the webbing flat and measure the length. Multiply the length by the number of web strips. Write the number down.

Remove a strip of the short webbing. Find the total length for this webbing the same way you did for the long strips. Write the number down.
