Instructions

    • 1

Select a knee-height planting urn from a local home goods or hardware store. The urn can be made from a sturdy plastic, or it can have a clay or ceramic construction. For a more eclectic design, purchase a garden urn from a local antique store.

Spray paint the urn with soft beige, green or white color. If your living room or bedroom needs a more vibrant or specialized design, you can paint the urn a color that blends with the room design. However, keep in mind that the more neutral the urn is painted, the more impressive table decorations will appear.

Add a round glass top to cover the urn. Choose a round glass tabletop that has almost twice the circumference of the urn. It can be placed on top of the urn and secured with tiny, clear rubber stoppers that go on underneath the glass.
