Prepare the wrought iron chair for repair by lightly scrubbing all iron surfaces with fine-grit sandpaper.
Wipe off the iron dust and grit with a clean tack cloth.
Place a tarp or plastic drop cloth on a level surface in a ventilated area, or outdoors, to prepare for spray painting.
Point the can of rust-prevention spray primer directly at the scrubbed iron, at least 6 inches from the chair. Lightly coat the entire iron portion of your chair with primer. Allow the primer to dry for 24 hours.
Spray the rust-prevention top coat onto the iron. Wipe up any drips with a sponge paintbrush. Allow the top coat to dry for 24 hours.
