Use the steel brush and steel wool to remove as much of the rush as possible and to remove any loose paint. Smooth the surface. While it is not necessary to create a perfect finish, the more time and effort you spend now, the more professional the completed job will look.
Use the rags to wipe down the surfaces, removing loose debris. An alternate means of removing dust is to blow with an air compressor or canned air.
Spread the drop cloth, preferably outside or in a well-ventilated room. Set the item you are refinishing in the center of the cloth. Apply the rust inhibitor. Let dry thoroughly.
Spray on the paint in wide even. Use smooth movements to create an even look. You may need to let it dry and apply more than one coat.
