Caring for Outdoor Wicker Furniture

Regular Maintenance

  Dust your wicker furniture about once a week to remove dust that can turn into dirt or grime when exposed to rain. Alternately, use an attachment on your vacuum to remove dust particles.

  Remove debris stuck in the weave of the wicker with an old toothbrush or other brush.

  Wash your wicker furniture on a regular basis (about once a month) with mild liquid dishwashing soap and water and a damp sponge.

  Rinse thoroughly with a water hose or another damp sponge.

  Allow the furniture to dry in a sunny area and avoid sitting on it before it is completely dry.

Cleaning Stains

  Scrub stains or grimy buildup with a scrubbing brush and soapy water or an all-purpose cleaner, such as Fantastik or 409.

  Rinse the wicker thoroughly with a water hose.

  Place the outdoor wicker furniture in a sunny spot in your yard to ensure thorough drying.
