The Directions for the EZ Up Tent

E-Z up tents provide shelter at the beach, park and festivals. Vendors use E-Z up tents at trade shows to showcase their products, giving their booth a "storefront" feel. E-Z tents are popular because they're easy to use and transport. The directions for setting up an E-Z tent are simple to follow, allowing for quick set-up with just two people.

Instructions

  1. Opening The E-Z Up Tent:

    • 1

Place the cover over the top of the E-Z up tent during its first set-up. Open the E-Z Up tent to three-quarters of its full open size. Unfold the top cover, and attach each corner to the top of the metal frame using the Velcro strips. Firmly press each connecting Velcro strip with both hands to secure the cover.

    • 2

Set the E-Z up tent in the center of the location where it will be placed. Place one person on left side of the tent and another the right, then pull the legs apart away from the center. Repeat this step for each leg of the tent until it is fully opened.

    • 3

Adjust the height of each leg, two at a time. Press each snap button into the legs, and pull the legs up to extend and adjust the height. Ensure that button locks into the round slots after extending.

    • 4

Attach the E-Z up back cover to the canopy. Extend the back cover with two people, and wrap each Velcro strap around the two back legs to secure the back cover.

    • 5

Position 5-pound sandbags or cement blocks on the corner of each leg over the bottom lip. Securing the E-Z up tent also is done with ground stakes. This will prevent the E-Z up tent from moving or flying away in the event of windy conditions.

    Closing The E-Z Up Tent:

    • 6

Remove the ground stakes, sandbags or blocks from the ground and set them aside. Remove the back cover if placed on the E-Z up tent by unwrapping the Velcro straps.

    • 7

Push the snap pins into the legs, and pull each leg down until they snap into the last slot. Perform this step two legs at a time until all legs have been pulled down.

    • 8

Lift the tent two inches off of the ground and bring each leg into the center of the frame. Bear hug the tent with both arms to tightly close it. Place the closed tent into the roll-away bag upon completion.
