How to Get the Umbrella Plug Out of the Target Alexander Table

Target department stores sell a line of furniture under the Alexander brand name, including patio tables and chairs. Alexander patio tables are manufactured with a pre-cut center hole for inserting an outdoor umbrella to cover the table. The umbrella tube fits into a weighted base placed underneath the Alexander table. To use the umbrella, you must remove the plug in the center hole. The plug enhances the appearance of the table when an umbrella is not in use, and prevents items on the table from falling through the hole.

     Pull the patio chairs away from the Alexander table.

     Push upward on the umbrella plug from the underside of the table until the plug pops out. Store the plug in a safe location where you can find it later.

     Place the umbrella base on the ground, patio or deck centered below the table.

     Insert the umbrella tube through the hole in the table and into the base below.

     Twist the locking bolt or bolts on the base clockwise to hold the umbrella tube securely.
