How to Keep the Wind From Blowing Over Patio Furniture

If you own lightweight patio furniture, chances are it will blow over in the wind from time to time, especially the chairs. Therefore, you may want to invest in heavier, more sturdy patio furniture. If not, you can prevent light-weight furniture from falling over. If a storm is coming and wind gusts are likely, move your lightweight furniture to a safe location such as a garage. If you can't do this, secure the furniture from falling over or blowing away.

Instructions

Stack lightweight chairs and put them in the corner of your patio where the wind is not as strong. Do this whenever they are not in use, especially on windy days. For bad storms, tie the chairs together with rope and lay them on their sides. Then, tie them to a permanent object such as a tree or sturdy pole or column.

Close the umbrella to the locked position so it does not blow open whenever it is not in use. Secure it closed with string if it does not have its own tie. Remove it from the table and lay it on its side during bad storms.

    • 3

Turn a lightweight patio table upside down to preventing it from blowing over in a heavy wind storm. Tie it to a tree or column for extra security.
