Clean soiled poolside furniture immediately. Whenever you notice dirt or other stains, wipe down the furniture with a clean cloth or a cloth that is dampened with warm water and gentle dish soap.
Wipe down all furniture and outdoor fabrics immediately after it rains. This will prevent debris buildup and rain spots from damaging the furniture.
Apply a waterproofing spray or UV fabric protector to all of the fabric pieces of your poolside furniture. This will protect the fabric from sun damage, mold and mildew.
Clean hardy fabrics, such as those used for poolside umbrellas and chairs, with a mixture of 1 gallon of warm water, 3/4 cup of liquid bleach and a dash of liquid dishwashing detergent, as recommended by Good Housekeeping. Dab an inconspicuous area of the fabric with the solution and allow it to rest for a few minutes to make sure that the fabric is colorfast and won’t be damaged by the solution. Scrub the fabric with the solution and then rinse it with a hose and allow it to air dry.
Check bolts, screws and hinges once a year to make sure they are tight. If they are loose, tighten them accordingly. If wheels or hinges are tight or sticking on the poolside furniture, apply silicon lubricant or silicon spray to the joints.
Store more delicate poolside furniture, such as wicker and bamboo furniture, inside during the winter. If you do not have room to store the furniture inside, purchase a winter cover for the furniture.
