Instructions

    • 1

Place two of the rectangular pallets on the ground in the desired location for the lounge chair. The location should be level. Arrange the two pallets so they are in line with each other longways.

    • 2

Stack the third and fourth rectangular pallets directly on top of the first two. Arrange the pallets so that they sit perfectly flush with the bottom two pallets. These pallets will be the seat of the lounge chair.

    • 3

Place the square-shaped pallet in front of you on a flat surface. Arrange the pallet so that the two long boards are on the sides and the pallet wood is parallel to you. Use a hammer to remove both layers of wood from the bottom of the pallet to a point 1 1/2 feet up. This should leave the long side boards sticking out on the bottom. Be sure all nails have been removed.

    • 4

Cut two lengths of 2-by-4 lumber to measure 3 feet long. These boards will be used to support the back of the lounge chair.

    • 5

Decide which end of the lounge seat will be at the back of the lounge chair. Place the square pallet on the back of the seat with the long boards pointing down, set it on an angle and prop it up with the 2-by-4 boards on either side. Nail the 2-by-4s to the back rest pallet, and nail the long boards of the back rest to the seat pallets.

    • 6

Smooth the rough surfaces using a sander and sandpaper. Pay close attention to the corners and edges of the pallets, to prevent the wood from splintering.

    • 7

Paint the entire lounge chair with an even coat of paint. Let the paint dry completely.

    • 8

Place an outdoor lounge chair cushion on the chair to make it comfortable.
